OBITUARY
Douglas Leon McDougald was born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 29, 1953 (the first of a set of twins) to George Alonzo and Shirley Maxine McDougald.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, two sisters—Tanya McDougald and Laura (McDougald) Curtis; three brothers—David, Donald and Brian McDougald. He is survived by one son—Calvin Edward Rogers and three daughters; Chantell Rogers, China Hardison and Kika Dancy; six grandchildren, Calvin Rogers Jr, Kyree Hardy, Jacaree Hardy, Keryi Hardison, Eric Sidwell and Angel Hadnot, one brother, Bruce McDougald; four sisters, Denise Harbour, Joyce and Joy McDougald and Myrtle Odom; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Doug was a loving brother to his siblings and father to his children. He believed in family and was very protective of those he loved. He lived a hard life, but his struggles were not in vain. He helped make us who we are today.
Douglas’ passion in life was to be an auto mechanic. He was known as the “hood” mechanic. He was a very good mechanic and would help out anyone who asked. He had a passion for cooking and was a good barber. He enjoyed music and loved his Cadillacs. He was also a comedian and loved to make people laugh. He also liked to dance.
